My 1st MOPs Group
It went pretty well. They were all nice and Malachi seemed to have a good time too even though he cried a bit when I first put him in the nursery. They had breakfast there too which was soooooo nice especially since I forgot to eat something before I went :) lol We talked about the '5 Love Languages of Children'.
Quote I got from a cousin..not sure where she got it...
Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, Who calls you back when you hangup on him, who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Who kisses you on the forehead, Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats. Who holds your hand in front of his friends. Wait for the one who constantly reminding you how much he cares about you, and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and say "that's her."

MOPs
I'm joining a MOPs group! Can't get anyone else to hang out with me especially people with kids so Malachi can learn how to socialize so I figured this would be a good thing to do. My first meeting is tomorrow. Plus this is with Christian people of course so I will be able to get some accountability, good advice on things, new friends (hopefully) and new friends for Malachi too of course! I'm so excited...only thing is it's early in the morning so I need to get off my lazy butt and get up early! I've gotten in the habit of staying up to late and then sleeping in. Hopefully I can do this and it works out okay. YAY!!!
25 Random Things About Me...
1. I'm married, with one son and a dog
2. I share a house with my hubby, son and brother (and dog too of course)
3. I love books and wish I could have my own library :)
4. Don't let me near cinnamon candy or popcorn..i'm addicted to both and don't like to share lol
5. My first job was at McDonalds and amazingly "i loved it!" for the most part. I had a lot of great friends there. I liked it mostly because of the people.
6. I'd rather suffer then spend lots of money....that goes for freezing to death because I don't want a high heat bill, etc (don't worry I do keep my son in flannel sleepers most of the time during the winter months because our house is so cold). My husband calls me the heat nazi. If I see anyone go near the thermostat to turn it up...I will bite ur head of! :) Or when u are not looking I will turn it back down. lol
7. I'm shy which I think a lot of people assume to mean that I'm stuffy and don't like being friends or something because a lot of people seem to not include me in things or ignore me. I just don't know how to socialize...yes it's true...i can't help it!
8. I have the hardest time trying to figure out where my talents lie. I can't sing, can't dance, can't do crafts, can't speak 10 languages...can't even speak two languages. Can't draw or paint...can't can't can't...not a good talker and sometimes not the best listener (my mind wanders to easily once in awhile). Not a people person..not that great with kids besides my own (even then I wonder sometimes). Yeah, I like to go into this pit of depression of not being able to figure out what I'm good at. hehe
9. I kinda want to have one more child (I really wouldn't mind having a few more but Matt wants no more than two). I just don't know if I'm ready yet but I keep praying to God to let it happen in His timing and when He knows I'm ready to give me the strength. Cause it is hard sometimes!
10. My family (on my mom's side) has a summer place in PA that we go every year. It's great! We have cabins (and some of us tents) and we have bonfires and cookouts and go swimming in a swimming hole...it's so wonderful!
11. We had a cat that died last August. It was very sad and very unexpected. :(
12. I can't stick with anything for a very long time. Any project I start I tend to get bored with and want to move on to something else. Even with books...it's not so bad now but when I was younger I would be reading three or four different books at the same time.
13. I like doing things on the computer..that's why I'm on here so much :)
14. I play Final Fantasy XI with my bro and hubby online (which includes people all over the world).
15. I like to think before I act and before I speak...so if you ask me something don't expect an answer right away. I like to think and contemplate.
16. I worry to much (at least according to Matt I do. lol)
17. I wish I could just add an extension on to my parent's house and live there and split the bills, etc. I love my parents and would love to live with them still or at least really close. :) Well, I only live like 10 minutes from them now but I wish I at least lived in the same neighborhood or on the same street.
18. I don't trust the news.
19. I love camping and traveling, but I also love just staying home, being in comfortable clothes and relaxing.
20. I love chick flicks! I hate scary movies!
21. these keep getting harder and harder...not sure if I can come up with many more random things about me. lol let me see....
I had really short hair once :) I keep trying to get my hair cut short again but Matt doesn't want me to. He says he likes my long hair. Not sure why because he always complains about it tickling his face.
22. I also worked as a Pet Groomer, Housekeeper and an Administrative Assistant... I like variety I guess..
23. I want to learn Japanese, German and a bunch more languages
24. I've thought about starting a daycare in my home but I don't know... I just think it would be fun especially since I have a lot of toys now for kids :) Plus I want to have a way to make a little extra cash from out of the home so I can stay home with my son.
25. I've never dyed my hair but I did get highlights twice (maybe three times but I think it was only two and that was because someone I worked with was going to school for cosmotology and I wanted to help them out since they needed people to practice on.)

Ford Street is coming! Hurray!
I can't wait to go to Ford Street this year! I just pray all works out so that we can for sure go. I just love sharing F.S. with Malachi because I remember all the fun I had there when I was a kid and want Malachi to experience that too.
Daniel is planning on putting on a movie this year with our cousins, Aunt, Uncles, etc help. This should be good because Daniel is awesome with graphics and editing. For those that don't know...it was an old tradition of ours to put on some form of "show" or "event" every year but as most of the cousins grew up and started having families we just really haven't had anything the last few years. I hope this turns out good.

2nd Christmas? =)
Matt's dad and his dad's girlfriend dropped off some toys for Malachi and clothes too today. Actually it was yesterday since I'm writing this after midnight. It was like a second Christmas for Malachi. :) When he woke up from his nap he had a whole bunch of new toys to play with. They were 'hand me downs' from their children but in good shape and Malachi was happy with them. Especially the cars. He loves cars. :)
Troubled times... There IS hope...
There are several words that are dominating the contemporary news media: recession, gas and food prices, bank loans, inflation, and debt. We are the only nation on earth that has "In God we trust" inscribed on our dollar bill, but that dollar is shrinking daily. It doesn't buy what it once did. Why is this happening?
God warned Israel that if they failed to trust Him, they would lose His blessing and would become in debt to the foreigner: " He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail" (Deut. 28:44). He said that they would also have droughts, and incurable diseases, and aliens would fill the land. Think of what's happening to America:
Our national debt is more than 10 trillion dollars. Much of this debt is to foreign nations. Over 2,3000,000 Americans will get cancer in the next year. We have terrible droughts, and yet we have continual massive floods. We are also plagued with devastating hurricanes and killer tornadoes. These things are not evidences of God's blessing. So why are they happening to us?
Aren't we a morally good nation? Don't we trust in God? Before you answer, here are some statistics for you to consider:
*Since 1990, more than 300,000 people have been murdered in the U.S.
*More than 50 million babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade.
*50-60% of married couples admit to adultery, and 5 million unwed couples live together.
*75-80% have had premarital sex by the age of 19.
*One-thrid of births are out of wedlock. 1 in 4 teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease.
*Americans spend up to 13 billion annually on pornography.
*We have over 2,200,000 people in prison - the highest number in the world.
*Surveys reveal that 91% lie regularly.
Still, the idea that we have somehow offended God is unthinkable. Rather, we blame the economy, politicians, pesticides, global warming, global cooling, El Nino, Mother Nature - anything but ourselves and our relationship to God. However, if you are in the middle of smog, the air may look normal and clean. But from the higher perspective of 10,000 feet, you will see that the poison of brown smog hangs over your whole area.
To see our true moral state, we have to look at ourselves from God's high perspective. Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." The Bible says that if you hate someone, you are a murderer. Lying lips are "an abomination to the Lord." Deceitfulness is so serious to God, all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. Also, no thief or adulterer will enter Heaven.
How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything, used God's name in vain, or looked with lust? If you have broken those Commandments, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and if you are guilty on Judgment Day you will end up in Hell. That's not God's will. He is rich in mercy and has made a way for you to be forgiven. You broke God's Law (the Ten Commandments), but Jesus paid your fine in His life's blood when He suffered and died on the cross. That means God can legally dismiss your case. He can commute your death sentence and let you live, because of the suffering death and resurrection of Jesus Christ: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." What you must do is repent (turn from all sin) and trust in Jesus alone. If you do that, God will grant you the gift of everlasting life. So, don't put it off. Repent and trust in Jesus today. You may not have tomorrow.
If you care about this nation and where you will spend eternity, get right with God now. Pray something like this:
"Dear God, please forgive me for sinning against You. I turn from all sin and trust in Jesus alone as my Lord and Savior. I will read the Bible daily and obey what I read. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

January
Matt's mom's birthday was the 14th and we going out to eat today with her which is the 19th. We'll be going to Olive Garden I think.
BANG! It happened... ??
Of course, my theory is an insult to your intellect, because you know that if the Coca Cola can is made, there must be a maker. If it is designed, there must be a designer. The alternative, that it happened by chance or accident, is to move into an intellectual free zone.
Could I convince you that I dropped 50 oranges onto the ground and they by chance fell into 10 rows of 5 oranges? The logical conclusion is that someone with an intelligent mind put them there. The odds that 10 oranges would fall by accident into a straight line are mind-boggling, let alone 10 rows of 5.
What about the banana?
Note that the banana:
*is shaped for human hand
*has non-slip surface
*has outward indicators of inward contents: Green--too early, Yellow--just right, Black--too late.
*has a tab for removal of wrapper
*is perforated on wrapper
*bio-degradable wrapper
*is shaped for human mouth
*is pleasing to taste buds
*is curved towards the face to make eating process easy
Do you know of any building that didn't have a builder? Do you know of any painting that didn't have a painter? Do you know of any car that didn't have a maker?
"Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe -- a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which our modest powers must feel humble." --Albert Einstein
Did you know that the eye has 40,000,000 nerve endings, the focusing muscles move an estimated 100,000 times a day, and the retina contains 137,000,000 light sensitive cells?
Charles Darwin said, "To suppose that the eye could have been formed by natural selection, seems I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."
George Gallup, the famous statistician said, "I could prove God statistically; take the human body alone; the chance that all the functions of the individual would just happen, is a statistical monstrosity."
